TO CATCH SPRING MIGRATION!!

May 19th, 2013

Alula Birding & Natural History Tours went on this jaunt to two of northern New  Jersey’s most sizzling spring migration hotspots – Lord Stirling Park and the adjacent Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. On this “birding doubleheader” we walked many of the beautiful boardwalks and trails that run through the county park in search of an array of colorful spring migrants – WARBLERS, TANAGERS, ORIOLES, THRUSHES, and GROSBEAKS. A short ride brought us to the refuge where we visited several well-known locations in search of more spring migrants as well as resident species.
